Puglisi

So far attested by a single source

We know this make existed from the book by Renato Benusiglio. In the Trofeo Cadetti Agip he first raced a Thiele prepared by Aldo Garoli, then moved to a Puglisi. With it he saw the whole championship through and finished eleventh overall.

The passage in the book

On page 7 of «Big Ben … e le corse», beside the photograph, it reads:

«Con le „formuline“ 875 Monza comincio a fare sul serio nel Trofeo Cadetti Agip … prima con la Thiele preparata da Aldo Garoli … poi con la Puglisi. Faccio in effetti tutto il campionato e mi classifico 11° assoluto.»

The photograph

A dark single-seater carrying the number 82.

What we do not know

Everything else. The builder’s first name is missing, as are the place and years of activity, how many cars were built, and the year Benusiglio drove it. Puglisi does not appear in Massimo Campi’s «Correvamo con i formulini», nor in our transcribed result lists, and the web turns up nothing. Anyone who knows more is welcome to write to us.
