Bartolina
Leo and Romano Bartoli
After winning the 1974 title, Leo Bartoli built his own cars together with his brother Romano under the name «Bartolina». As champion he was no longer allowed to race in the Trofeo Cadetti himself.
The frame was made of hexagonal steel tube obtained by a friend; it was very stiff, and at first the suspension gave trouble. The engine sat ahead of the rear axle, which produced very good roadholding.
The first driver was Alberto Crema, then Pippo Bianchi, who could have won the championship with it but declined so as to be able to keep racing in Formula Monza. A second chassis was driven by Ermanno Alboreto, brother of Michele Alboreto.
