Giuseppe «Pippo» Bianchi

Runner-up twice, six years apart

In 1975 runner-up in the Trofeo Cadetti on a Melesi, behind Riccardo Calegari. Six years later, in 1981, runner-up again — this time on a Bartoli built by the brothers from Bresso, behind Giovanni Brusadelli.

Campi calls him one of the class’s old hands and a standard-bearer of the Scuderia Salvati. And he writes a line about him that catches the spirit of the category: Bianchi never wanted to win the title, so that he could go on racing these cars.
