The Jolly Club came into being in 1957 through Mario Angiolini. Its seat was on Piazza della Repubblica in Milan. Romolo Tavoni counted it among the long-established teams whose interests lay elsewhere: «il Jolly Club, che era per i rally».

At the first Formula 875 Monza race in May 1965 it nonetheless entered six cars, more than any other team on that list. They were Franco Guffanti (no. 10), Arnaldo Bernacchini (12), Duccio Castelli (19), Gianni Adani (20), Giorgio Recordati (28) and Luigi Scalini (34), all on C.R.M. Guffanti won the Trofeo Cadetti the following year.

Bernacchini described how one got in. He was a track marshal at Monza, and a colleague took him along one Thursday evening to the club rooms. That evening the Rally of the Flowers was being prepared. He paid the subscription and became a Jolly Club driver. Since his Formula Monza car would not arrive until spring, Angiolini first sent him rallying as co-driver to Stefano Monti — the start of a second career.

The club reappears later in an undated entry list, with Vito Borrello on a Vargiu and a driver who signed himself «Gioris».
