The Meneghina was founded in the early 1970s by Alfredo Vergani together with Giambertone, once the manager of Juan Manuel Fangio. Vergani was its sporting director; his son Egidio, later a driver himself, went with him to the circuits. Vergani had previously been with the Scuderia Mediolanum and the Madunina.

In 1973 the Meneghina won the Coppa Scuderie with 49 points, four ahead of the Scuderia Salvati. Its best-known driver was Orazio Ragaiolo, champion of 1972; in the same circle raced Lella Lombardi and Adelmo Fossati. An undated entry list names Anacleto Gianoli, Antonino Miragliotta, Camillo Cavallini, Giovanni Teli and Giuseppe Airoldi for it.

A report of 1972 names Anacleto Fontana as president. How that fits with Vergani’s role we do not know.
