Scuderia
The racing stables of the Formula 875
Beside the constructors stood the racing stables. They entered the cars, often for several drivers, and the championship kept a separate table for them.
A scuderia rarely ran just one make. Its story therefore fits on no maker’s page – it runs across them. That is what this section is for.
Six have a page of their own here. We know most about the S.C.A.M. of Melegnano and the Scuderia Giovanni Salvati of Milan, for which the Madis 002 raced in the Cadetti class. To these come the Jolly Club, the Meneghina, the Madunina and the Metropoli.
Others we know so far only by name. The entry list of the first race of May 1965 gives eleven: Metropoli, Mirabella Mille Miglia, S. Ambroeus, Nord Ovest, Madunina, Jolly Club, del Lario, Moroni — which in 1965 entered Lella Lombardi’s C.R.M. —, Squadra Piloti Senesi, Arcangeli Bandini and Gruppo Piloti Pistoiesi. The 1973 Coppa Scuderie ranked eleven teams: Meneghina (49 points) ahead of Salvati (45), Varazze Corse (32), Allegrini (20), Sporturismo (19), Concordia (12), Spring Club (8), Alexandria (6), Bracco (4), then Moroni and Rododendri (1 each). Bosio raced for the Concordia of Milan, as did Paolo Bertini in 1970. An undated entry list adds Sesto Corse and Escolette, and the interview with Romolo Tavoni also Lodi Corse.
Every team we have come across
Twenty-seven names. Most we know only from an entry list or a set of standings, without knowing who stood behind them. Where a page exists, the name is linked.
