Egidio Vergani
Runner-up in the 1978 Trofeo Cadetti
From Milan, and in 1978, at twenty-two, runner-up in the Trofeo Cadetti on a Repetto. Four wins — as many as the champion Filippo Baj, but four points fewer, because Baj scored more often. The passion came from his father Alfredo; after his driving years he became a test driver for Volkswagen.
His brother Lucio, born 1961, followed him into Formula Monza at eighteen, won two races on an FZ and finished third in 1981. He later founded Vergani Racing — the name on Cirelli‘s car.
