The surviving lists, round by round
The lists below reproduce the results that have come down to us. Names and spellings of the makes are given as they appear in the period lists; differing spellings have not been standardised.
1965 – the first championship
| Pos. | Driver | Car |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Maurizio Montagnani | Gibertini & Oleari |
| 2 | Enzo Corti | Thiele |
| 3 | Pino Pica | C.R.M. |
| 3 | Walter Frodi | — |
Ten rounds, all at Monza. The first race was run in two fifteen-lap heats and a twenty-lap final; the first ten of each heat went through. Montagnani won five of the ten rounds, Corti two.
Walter Frodi, who came from karting, won the penultimate round and set the season’s fastest average lap, over 109 km/h. Lella Lombardi was third in the third round after winning her heat ahead of Montagnani. The last win of the season went to Luciano Pavesi on a Thiele he shared with Pierdanilo Vallardi.
Twenty-two events were held in all, including hillclimbs and two races at Vallelunga, both won by Montagnani. At the Gran Premio Vigorelli the cars ran against the more powerful Junior 500s; Corti finished third there. About 600 entries were made over the season. Complete final standings we do not have.
1966 – two championships
| Pos. | Driver | Car |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Franco Guffanti | C.R.M. |
| 2 | Santino Pancotti | C.R.M. |
| 3 | Giovanni Salvati | Ambivero |
Coppa nazionale CSAI 1966
| Pos. | Driver | Car |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Maurizio Montagnani | C.R.M. |
| 2 | Luciano Pavesi | Repetto |
| 3 | Fabrizio Viscardi | Stilauto |
From this season the championship was backed by AGIP, following an agreement between Luigi Bertett and Enrico Mattei; racing now took place at night. Entries rose from about 600 to 750 across ten rounds. The Coppa nazionale CSAI was added, contested also away from Monza and in hillclimbs.
Guffanti won five rounds. His hardest rival was Santino Pancotti, whose off in the last race decided both round and championship. Giovanni Salvati scored in eight of the ten rounds, won one, and made his Formula 850 début the same year. Besides the two championships there was a Coppa Cadetti over three further rounds at Monza and the Coppa Federauto, won by Lino Baldini on a new Repetto.
1967 – De Negri, Viscardi and Francia
| Pos. | Driver | Car |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Luigi De Negri | LAB |
| 2 | Giorgio Francia | Repetto |
| 3 | Roberto Franco | C.R.M. |
Coppa nazionale CSAI 1967
| Pos. | Driver | Car |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Fabrizio Viscardi | Stilauto |
| 2 | Luigi De Negri | LAB |
| 3 | Giorgio Francia | Repetto |
| 3 | Roberto Franco | C.R.M. |
Nine of the ten planned rounds were run. De Negri’s season had two halves: four wins in a row, then several retirements. The lead was enough.
Giorgio Francia, then still racing as «Gondor», won two rounds and was narrowly second behind De Negri in the Trofeo Bandini, a race named after Lorenzo Bandini, who had died shortly before at Monte Carlo. Alberto Colombo and Angelo Artoni often won their heats but rarely delivered in the final. Fabrizio Viscardi won only one Trofeo round, but took the Coppa nazionale CSAI. Carlo Milani and Luigi Battistello, both on Thiele, also won a round each.
1968 – final standings of the fourth Trofeo Cadetti Agip

| Pos. | Driver | Car |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Mauro Ghisleri | Repetto |
| 2 | Francesco Leopardi | LAB |
| 3 | Fabrizio Noè | Stilauto |
Ghisleri had made his début in the last two rounds of 1968 without drawing attention. In 1969 he won four rounds, was fourth once, and took both titles, despite being excluded on technical grounds in the sixth round.
Francesco Leopardi, twenty-four, from Sesto San Giovanni, won two rounds; in the second half of the season his LAB no longer held up mechanically. The third round was won by Fabrizio Noè, also from karting, in a downpour, nearly lapping the whole field. Duilio Truffo, another former kart racer, won the seventh round; a second win was taken from him at scrutineering. The single race at Vallelunga went to Renzo Togna. The car of the year was the Repetto.
1970 – seventh round on the Pista Junior
Heats 15 laps (35.778 km), final 20 laps (47.700 km).
