Thiele
Plastic Thiele, Novara
Thiele was a GT driver who owned a plastics factory in Novara. He took a mould from the aluminium bodywork of the prototypes and produced it in plastic. At the end of April 1965 Plastic Thiele held 22 advance orders – the second highest number after CRM.
Enzo Corti finished second in the first championship of 1965 on a Thiele and was honoured in person by Enzo Ferrari at the prize-giving. In 1968 the cars were still considered usable but were no longer being built; some had been reworked by their owners to such an extent that they were entered under a different make name.
In the 1973 constructors’ standings Thiele stood ninth with eight points.
