Roberto Vidori

Runner-up three years running

Runner-up three years running. In 1970 on a LAB, then twice on a Repetto, the last time in 1972 with forty-five points behind Orazio Ragaiolo. That year he had lost three races: a broken clutch, going off the road to avoid rivals who had spun, and a lost intake trumpet.

He won the final round of 1972 in the rain. Two years earlier, at the seventh round, he had led the final until four laps from the end.

Vidori was twenty-eight, from Pieve di Soligo near Treviso, a businessman. Married to Renata, two children, Riccardo aged five and Simona two and a half. Besides racing, skiing and fishing.
