Tinarelli
Five cars in the very first race
Tinarelli is one of the makes of the first hour. The entry list of the first race of May 1965 shows five Tinarelli — after C.R.M. and Thiele the most numerous make on the grid.
At the wheel were Giovanni Gussoni and Giuliano Pettenon (both Scuderia Madunina), Giampaolo Monti, Carlo Fedeli and Paolo Vargiu — who years later built under his own name.
In our records the make appears until 1969. By 1968 it was no longer being built, but was still on the grid — as happened to several of the early builders.
What we do not know
Who stood behind the name, where the cars were built, how many there were: we have nothing. Nor is anything to be found outside our own collection. If you know something, please get in touch.
