Gianfranco Zago
Zago is one of the makes that carry their driver’s name: Gianfranco Zago raced his cars himself. A single race day is documented – the seventh round of 1970 at Monza. In the third heat he finished third, one second behind the winner Celso Monti on a Maco and three tenths behind Marcello Rosei on a Thiele. In the final of the same day he was classified fourteenth, having covered nine of the twenty laps.
In an undated Formula Monza entry list, G. Franco Zago is entered for the Scuderia Sesto Corse; no make is given alongside his name. No further record of the Zago make survives.
