As early as 1966 Renzo Santandrea built his first Formula 875 car.
His cars were not that innovative at first, but they were very reliable and for that reason quite popular with the racing drivers. In 1978 Renzo presented his latest Formula with a mid-mounted engine. These cars were built until 1982. Altogether around 90 racing cars came out of the Santandrea workshop.
The Formula Monza 875 alone accounts for 55 chassis, numbered consecutively up to #055. The remaining cars belong to later series — nine Formula Panda plus the Formula Fire and Junior. Where the figure of 90 is given for the Formula Monza, it is in fact the total output that is meant.
