Formula 875 revised — a great deal of new material

29.08.2026

The Formula 875 section has been thoroughly revised. Much of it comes from records we have been able to add to our collection.

The largest single piece is the entry list of the very first race, the 1ª Coppa Cadetti 875 Monza of May 1965: 48 entries with race number, driver, team and car. It now appears in full on the section page. Among other things it shows that Lella Lombardi started as number 29 on a C.R.M. for the Scuderia Moroni — and that 24 of the 48 cars were C.R.M., exactly half the field.

New or much enlarged: a page of its own on Giovanni Salvati, who came from Formula Monza to Formula 2; the pages for C.R.M. (Costruzioni Reparto Motori, Modena — 38 of the 72 orders of 1965), Daco (Giovanni Daverio built five chassis in a Milan basement), Callegari, Moroncelli and Prinoth; and three makes that were missing altogether: Tinarelli, MZ and Stylauto.

The Scuderia section now names eighteen teams, the Daco register is new, and two pieces have been added: the photograph of the trophy of the 1968 Trofeo Cadetti Agip, won by Mario Gatto by a single point, and the key fob from our collection that every driver received at the tenth Trofeo in 1974.
